Error Updating RIO Inventory Configuration – Classic


It’s best practice to let a System Administrator handle the RIO Inventory Configuration, but sometimes you will want a different user to do it. There is a chance that that user won’t be able to edit anything on the configuration page, and when they try to save it they will get an error message as follows:





The user will need the Customize Application permission to use the configuration screen. If the user’s profile doesn’t have this permission, the easiest way to do this is by creating a permission set.


1. Go to Setup > Manage Users > Permission Sets, and create a permission set. You can call it whatever you want.




2. Click on System Permissions.




3. You’ll need to click Edit, and select the “Customize Application” checkbox.




4. Save and assign the permission set to the user.
