Salesforce Workflow: Email Alert for Person Account

Once Person Account feature is activated in your Salesforce instance, you should be able to see Contact fields such as Email, Mailing Address, etc in the Account Layout. These fields will be renamed using the Person* prefix. For example:




If you are configuring a Workflow email alert using the Account object, the PersonEmail field will not appear under the Email field list. To overcome this limitation, you can try the following workaround:

  1. Create a new Email field in Account
  2. Create an Apex trigger/Workflow to copy the PersonEmail value to this new field
